The project started off with a search for the research topic. I decided to investigate a phenomenon that felt relevant to myself and people around me: the notion to always seek for high productivity and perfectioning our lives in order to become the best version of ourselves. To see ourselves as a project you can work on, in which every aspect of living has a part in. I very soon discovered a word is given to this idea: hustle culture.

A mindmap helped me to explore the research directions of this topic.

After a brainstorming session with the minor group, getting familiar with the topic on the internet, and going to an exhibition about the exhaustion of mankind and the earth, I decided to dive into a specific aspect of hustle culture: an implosion of the object of a deadline.

Although it was nice to dive into something more specific, I realised the next step should be to actually DO something: I decided to collect photos of workplaces.
