EXTERNAL COLLABORATORS
FLORIEKE - PSYCHOLOGY BACHERLOR STUDENT

Over the past half year, Florieke had been researching the effects of corona on our motivation towards reaching goals, for her bachelor thesis. She wrote and talked to me about how coronameasures ensure that we are confronted with ourselves all the time, which means our self-regulation system can't develop properly. Our source for inspiration and productivity (and thus perhaps the Kairos time) is forced to only come from internal factors, which results in a lot of pressure on our self control.
JOKE HERMSEN - WRITER, PHILOSOPHER

Joke gave an online lecture during 'het filosofische cafe' in Theater de Veste in Delft with the theme 'omarm de verveling'. One major theme that was introduced was the notion of time. I learned about Chronos and Kairos, two faces of time from greek mythology. Chronos is the worldly, measurable time, the time we use to set up society so that we can make arrangements. Kairos is the temporary interruption of that clock time. It is a sort of flow: the consciousness of time, which you experience when you are concentrated on something. When you forget the clock time and enter the inner experience of time. For example when your are in a moment of inspiration. During the lecture she pleaded that Chronos and Kairos should be rebalanced again and how culture, music, art and poetry could help us with that.
SILVIO LORUSSO - WRITER, ARTIST, DESIGNER

The book that guided me throughout the process of the project was 'everyone is an entrepreneur. nobody is safe.' by Silvio Lorusso. It describes the Entreprecariat, a worldview which combines the entrepreneurial spirit with precarity; 'an illusory freedom offered by an unprotected job or by a title that does not produce income but only symbolic benefits'.

The book really helped me to get an understanding of the tension and paradox situated in the entreprecariat and how different kinds of aspects influence our experience of the hustle.
JOSETTE - YOGA TEACHER

With Josette I had a conversation about how corona could have positive effects on peoples mental health. Some people might now finally have the peace and time to reflect, to order what one values, to apreciate time and find the Kairos time again. They might feel less excluded in their activities and mental state, since everyone is going through a hard time.
TAMARA DE GROOT, SAMI HAMMANA, JULIA GAT, SARAH DE BUCK, GABIJA BUBNYTE - TUTORS, RESARCH GROUP

Over the course of the project, weekly tutor meetings took place, which were really helpful to receive feedback and recommendations on inspirational related projects or possible directions to go into. It also gave me a regular push to keep making progress.
AWEE PRINS - PHILOSOHPY TEACHER

During the first 5 weeks of the project, I followed a philosophy course called 'the quest for man' which was focussed on phenomenological & hermeneutical approaches. By discussing several philosophers and the passion of Awee during his lectures and q&a sessions, I learned about the foruitousness of thinking, stirring thinking and the effects of technological thinking. Especially Heidegger's view on the 'era' of technology inspired me. He argues that technology is constantly waiting for us to be used, the technology we invented ourselves. However human themselves are also commandeered by technology, making us think that everything is meant to be used, including ourselves, that we have become a human resource.
During my project I did not directly collaborate with external partners. However I did reach out to other people in a more indirect or informal way. Read below who these people were and how they helped me in my research project.
